Just like clockwork, every three years the members of our Province of Mary, Mother of the Americas, gather in a “Chapter (in Latin, Capitulum)” meeting. This is considered a graced moment to discern the future course of our life and ministry as a religious community.
Seventy-two members of our Province gathered in Orlando, Florida, at the Renaissance Orlando Hotel from Monday evening, October 19th until Friday Morning, October 22nd, 2015. Some of our membership serve in Europe and South America and join us as well.
The Chapter meeting offers our members an opportunity to pray together, discuss many topics and, as we did in Orlando, elect our leadership for the next three years. It is also a time to reconnect with community friends, some of whom we have known for many years.
We also took this opportunity to gather our Jubilarians, some of whom have celebrated as many as seventy years of religious vows or sixty years of Priestly Ordination – true milestones in our community.
We ask that you, our La Salette Co-Missionaries, to continue to pray for us as together we serve the Church, sharing our charism (or gift) of reconciliation with all Mary’s people.
